1" x 6" Horsebutt / Equine Strop For Edge Pro and similar sharpening systems.
1" x 6" equine/horse hide strop on aluminum backing, the backing plates are cut from 6061 aluminum bar stock then leveled and ends tapered (have a brushed finish). A strip of genuine hard rolled (Russet Veg Tan) horsebutt leather is mounted on the blank then leveled.
This leather comes from the heavier portion of the hide and feature a very tight grain structure and is tanned along side Horween’s Shell Cordovan during the first 40 plus days of their tanning process. This hide is extra firm temper, it has undergone an extra step at the tannery, the hide is rolled under tons of force while damp to tighten and firm the hide even further.
I recommend using this as the last step of the sharpening process for high carbon and lower alloy stainless steels. This leather has a higher level of silica and silicates, leaves an extremely keen edge.
This will work with either Edge Pro models or any systems that accept Edge Pro stones.
