Extra heavy 15-16oz 1/4" 6-6.5mm thick vegetable tanned cowhide sole leather (thickness varies slightly from piece to piece).

This is extra thick extra firm temper cowhide that has been rolled or compressed at the tannery.

This is about as dense/firm as leather gets and is originally made for soling shoes however has many other uses including use for strops, the lack of give reduces the chance of rolling an edge. In my opinion the best leather for stropping chisels and hand planer blades on.

This hide is rolled under a steel wheel while damp under tons of force, this compacts the leather fibers making it incredibly dense/firm.

Each strip is cut to size, dimensions will be within (+/-) 1/8".
